Fall 2025 Fly Fishing Classes

The Flatland Fly Fishers fall fly fishing classes through WSU’s community education program are now open for enrollment. There are three different classes available starting in October 2025.

The Basics – This is a lecture class that is built around someone who knows nothing about fly fishing and helps get them started. There is information in this class that even a beginner to intermediate should be able to learn from.

Casting – This is a hands on fly casting class. Built around helping someone new get started but can help someone who knows they have some flaws and want to work on them. Do take videos of you casting multiple times during the class. We have found people being able to watch themselves can provide a great learning opportunity.

Tying – This is a hands on fly tying class. We start with the basics of learning to work with tying thread, but will work on multiple tying technics and materials to build a well rounded foundation. The last night we will do a parachute blue winged olive pattern.
