Gale Rods For Sale

The following rods were Gale Brown’s. I am helping his wife Peggy sell some of his fly fishing things that the kids didn’t want to keep. The money from this is going to Peggy. I have all this at my house, so if you see something you are interested in just contact me. I have reels we can put on any of these rods so that you can cast them first if you want.

Pending Sale means someone has let me know they want to buy that rod, but I like to let them cast them. If they cast it and it just they change their mind that is fine. So if you are interested in the item let me know and I will create a list. If the original person decides not to get it, I will let you know.

Temple Fork Outfitter 8′-9″ 3 weight 4 piece – $120
Lefty Kreh Finesse Series
My research the finesse series looks to be a medium action rod. I had someone looking at another 3 wt rod, so we cast this rod. It isn’t as soft action as I expected for it being the finesse series. It did cast nice.

St. Croix 8′ 4 weight 4 piece – $100
Imperial IFT804

Classic Destiny 9′-3″ 5 weight 4 piece – $200
Arctos AF935-4

Gale Brown Built 9′ 8 weight 2 piece – $60
This is an older rod Gale would have built in one of Neal’s classes.

Bamboo Heddon 9′ 2-1/2 F 3 piece with 2 tips – $200
HCH or D Billy Stanley’s Favorite
Worked with Neal on this. The HCH means 6 wt and the D means 7 wt based on his documentation. We felt it cast a 7 wt better. This rod Neal thinks is the original finish. There has been a guide repaired and Neal repaired another one that had been hit and push the guide foot out of the thread. From some of my research think this dates back to early 1950’s.

Montague 3020 3 Way – $30
This is an old glass rod made to spin fish or fly fishing. I actually found that the original one came with a second handle, the trigger grip spin fishing handle. The case this rod is in is not included in this price. Selling it separate if any one is interested in it.
