March 3/2 Club Meeting

Have you ever wanted to go fly fishing in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming area or have been but wish you had more knowledge of the area?  Well this is an opportunity for you.  We are fortunate enough to have a couple club members that spend a good deal of time in that area.  It is going to be a great presentation that you don’t want to miss.

Howard Kanitz will be providing information on familiarizing anyone interested in fishing the greater Yellowstone area including the park, Quake and Hebgen Lakes, the Madison and Henry’s Fork rivers including best times of year to fish each of the rivers and lakes; major hatches, flies and techniques.

Joe Riedl plans to cover Silver Creek, Big Wood and Big Lost rivers, which are near Ketchum/Sun Valley Idaho, in some detail and then briefly discuss some of the other rivers and lakes in that region of Idaho. The Salmon River and Sawtooth Wilderness are both close enough to  Ketchum/Sun Valley for day-trips to those areas.  Three new wilderness areas just north of Ketchum were also created last year.
